PATRICK F. CAMPOS

is a Filipino film scholar, programmer, and critic. Educated in cinema and literature at the University of the Philippines (UP) and the University of Westminster, he is an associate professor of film studies at the UP Film Institute, where he served as director.

Author of The End of National Cinema (2016), editor of Pelikula: A Journal of Philippine Cinema and Moving Image (2019- ), programmer of Tingin Southeast Asian Film Festival (2017- ), and co-organizer of the itinerant biennial Association for Southeast Asian Cinemas Conference, his critical research and curatorial practice investigate the intertwining of political and cinematic discourses and engage with and problematize notions of 'national' and 'regional' cinemas in the Philippines and Asia.

He has programmed, curated, juried, or served on the selection committee for Guanajuato International Film Festival, Singapore International Film Festival, Kolkata International Film Festival, QCinema International Film Festival, Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival, Madani International Film Festival, Cinemalaya Independent Film Film Festival, Cinema One Originals, Image Forum, Minikino, Asian Film Archive, Cultural Center of the Philippines, Museum of Contemporary Art and Design Manila, SeaShorts, Cinema Rehiyon, the revitalized FAMAS, Gawad Urian, among others.


He is a member of NETPAC and FIPRESCI and, in the Philippines, is an advocate of media literacy education.
